Canbriam Energy, Inc.
Canbriam Energy, Inc. is a privately held oil and gas exploration and production company with a focus on certain onshore regions of Canada and the United States.  Formed with financial support from two major investors including ARC Financial Corporation, Canbriam Energy is led by a veteran management and technical team with extensive relevant experience and a proven record of finding and developing hydrocarbon reserves.
Capio Exploration Ltd.
Capio Exploration Ltd. is a privately held exploration and production company focused on full cycle exploration opportunities and strategic acquisitions in western Canada.  The management team previously successfully built Capex Exploration Ltd., which was acquired by Sword Energy Inc. in 2008.
Global Tubing
Founded in 2007, Global Tubing is a manufacturer of coiled tubing.  The company’s plant, located just outside of Houston,  was finished in early 2009.  The company’s products are intended for the world coiled tubing market.
Huron Energy Corporation
Huron Energy Corporation is a private exploration and production company led by the former management team of Rubicon Energy Corporation, the company that initiated the prolific Nisku reef play trend in Pembina, one of the predominant plays in Alberta. Huron employs a full cycle exploration strategy targeting large hydrocarbon accumulations and is active in west central and northwest Alberta.
Nexterra Systems Corp.
Nexterra Systems Corp. develops, manufactures and delivers advanced gasification systems that enable industrial customers to self-generate clean, low cost heat and power using waste fuels. Nexterra's gasification systems are based on a new generation of gasification technology that is simpler in design, more versatile, lower cost and produces lower emissions than conventional combustion equipment.
Norex Exploration Services Inc.
Norex Exploration Services Inc. is a publicly traded company providing land seismic data acquisition services to Canadian and U.S exploration and production companies. The company is one of the largest seismic data acquisition companies in Canada with primary operations in the Western Canadian Sedimentary basin.
Seven Generations Energy Ltd.
Seven Generations Energy Ltd. is a private oil and gas company focused on resource plays in North America, including shale gas, tight gas, tight oil and oil sands.  An experienced technical and management team is led by Pat Carlson, the successful entrepreneur behind North American Oil Sands Corporation, Krang Energy and Passage Energy.  Formed with the financial support of four major investors, including ARC Financial Corp. as the lead and largest investor, Seven Generations has an initial total capitalization of $300 million.
Storm Ventures International
Storm Ventures International Inc. is a private Calgary based oil and gas company committed to applying Canadian experience, technology and capital to provide innovative solutions in the upstream energy business outside of conventional resources in Western Canada.
Temple Energy Inc.
Temple Energy Inc. is a natural gas exploration company with operations based in western Canada. The management team is focused on executing a technically disciplined, full cycle approach to exploration.
  

Previous Investments

Access Northeast Energy inc.
Access Northeast Energy Inc. was a private Canadian start-up company focused on developing and operating liquefied natural gas ("LNG") related midstream facilities in Atlantic Canada. ARC founded the company in 2002 with one of Canada's top natural gas marketing teams. In August 2004, Access Northeast completed the corporate sale of its Bear Head LNG terminal development project to Anadarko Petroleum Corp.
Avalanche Energy Ltd/Ice Energy Ltd.
Avalanche Energy Inc. was a private company founded in 1997. The company successfully executed a strategy of exploring for and developing shallow gas pools in east central Alberta. Avalanche was sold to Centrica PLC in 2001. The original founders of Avalanche moved on to form Ice Energy Ltd., a private start-up oil and gas company focused on southwest Saskatchewan shallow natural gas exploration. After only two years of operation, the company was sold on an attractive basis to Enerplus Resources Fund.
Bountiful Resources Inc.
Bountiful Resources Inc. was a private oil and natural gas exploration and development company that was founded in 2005. The company was sold to a large E&P company in May 2010.
Canadian Hydro Developers Inc.
Canadian Hydro Developers Inc. was Canada's premier independent developer of renewable energy power projects. The publicly listed company owned and operated wind generated electricity sites and hydroelectric power plants located across Canada. In November of 2009, Canadian Hydro Developers Inc. was acquired by TransAlta Corporation.
Capio Petroleum Corporation
Capio Petroleum Corporation was a private oil and gas company focused on three major properties in northeast British Columbia and southern/central Alberta. The company was acquired by Crescent Point Energy Trust in January 2004.
Centurion Energy International Inc.
Centurion Energy International Inc. was an international oil and gas company engaged in oil and gas exploration and production with properties located in Egypt, Tunisia and offshore West Africa.  The company was incorporated in 1997 and built a solid reserve base of over 97 million boe and production of 32,000 boe/d.  Centurion was headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.  ARC began investing in the company in the late 2000.  In January 2007, the company was sold to Dana Gas for $12.00 per share.
Flexpipe Systems Inc.
Flexpipe Systems Inc. was a private company that established itself as Canada's only manufacturer of composite, continuous, spoolable pipe for the transport of oil, gas and other produced liquids.  Formed in early 2001, Flexpipe successfully developed a high pressure, corrosion-resistant, coiled, continuous pipeline product and began commercial sales in 2003.  The company operated a manufacturing facility in Canada and distribution centre in the United States.  In June 2008, Flexpipe was acquired by ShawCor Ltd.  
North American Oil Sands Corporation

In 2001, ARC Financial founded an oil sands investment vehicle, North American Oil Sands Corporation, and sourced a best in class team to execute a thermal SAGD oil sands project. The company acquired high quality oil sands leases with sufficient reserves potential to support several large scale commercial SAGD projects and an upgrading solution. In June 2007, North American Oil Sands Corporation was sold to Statoil ASA at a price of $20.00 per share, valuing the transaction at approximately $2.2 billion.  

Progress Energy Ltd.

Progress Energy Ltd. was a public Calgary-based company that had a large, balanced inventory of drillable prospects split between light oil and natural gas. The company was successful in executing a strategy of building dominant positions in select operating areas and was converted to Progress Energy Trust in 2004.

Rubicon Energy Corporation
Rubicon Energy Corporation commenced operations as a private start-up company in the late 1990's with ARC as its lead investor. The company's growth came primarily through full-cycle exploration targeting the high impact Pembina Nisku shelf edge geologic trend. In March 2004, the company was acquired by HighWest Acquisition Corporation.
Technicoil Corporation
Technicoil Corporation is a publicly traded oil and gas well services company with headquarters in Calgary, Alberta. The company is focused on providing coiled tubing conveyed fracturing and drilling services and has a fleet of dedicated coiled fracturing rigs operating throughout the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Since its inception in 1997, Technicoil has been a leader in coiled tubing equipment innovation. The investment was sold in 2005.
Vista Midstream Solutions Ltd.
VISTA Midstream Solutions Ltd. was a provider of midstream natural gas processing and transportation services to producers in western Canada. The company launched its operations in 2000 with the acquisition of the Cutbank, Musreau and Freefight facilities from TransCanada Pipelines Limited. Following three years of profitable growth and one significant follow-on acquisition, the company was purchased by Talisman Energy Inc. in 2003.
